‘Fit to compete’ YES or NO – horses are presented to the jury and veterinary team.
One-off and unique cultural show ‘Secrets of Maarsbergen Estate’. In the beautiful park, with evening sun setting on Maarsbergen castle, the guests are taken on a unique journey starting in the year 1134, when Maarsbergen Estate was owned by knight Fulco. A storyteller takes us through centuries of spectacular history, using music and drama, including hilarious, moving and spectacular moments, to finally arrive on July 10, 2019: Maarsbergen Estate today.
Thursday 11 and Friday 12 July
Dressage and light training
The combinations perform their dressage test in complete peace and quietness.
Saturday 13 July
Climax of the championship! The combinations go at a high speed through a 4.5 kilometer course, marked by spectacular natural fences and water abstacles. Spectators will feel the thrill and witness the focus in horse and rider’s eye. Excitement guaranteed!
Meanwhile, visitors can stroll through the ‘Strodorp’ where lovely goods and products are offered at the stands and shops. Saturday is a real family day full of sports, nature, entertainment, delicious catering and the park to walk around in, and have a picnic or a drink.
Sunday 14 July
Show jumping, closing ceremony and price giving ceremony. The final part of the championship is the classic show jumping course. Sunday is all about the future, the youth. Together with the future champions, well-known vloggers, including Jesse Drent and Matt Harnack, fill the day programme. Meet & Greet, show, lots of horse talk and socialising. You can shop your favourite horse gear in the Strodorp and of course there is plenty of food and drinks. The day will be concluded with a beautiful ceremony and the celebration of the new Eventing European Champions Young Riders & Juniors (both individuals and teams).
